Champion would like to provide you with tips for your staff to safely weather any hurricanes. Please remember to prepare, stay calm, and stay alert during this dangerous season.
Preparations
- Know your evacuation routes. Have copies of the plans dictated by the city and can assist in training your staff so that they are prepared in the event of a hurricane making land.
- Check your emergency supplies. Maintain emergency supplies at your local branch consisting of: bottled drinking water, flashlights, batteries, storm jackets, and communication devices.
- Monitor the weather. Continue to monitor weather and keep the management staff up to date on any potential hurricanes that could make land.
- Set up communication plan. Coordinate to set up a communication plan to be used once the tiered re-entry begins.
During Storm
- Stay tuned to media outlets.
- Stay in a secure area.
- Do NOT ignore evacuation announcements or procedures.
- Maintain awareness of closed and flooded roads as well as any detours that have been set up.
Post-Storm
- Stay informed via news.
